At Shop Local, we support local businesses today and every day, so it's nice to see big companies, like Google, doing the same.

This past week, I read a mission statement from The Knot's corporate website (https://www.theknotww.com/). The statement included a paragraph and five principles. The paragraph describes what the parent company does. The statement says:

I was happy to learn that a group is promoting July as Independent Retailer Month.  Shop Local supports indie shops and thinks this is a good idea.

In particular, I liked the marketing ideas on their Resources page, including these:
  • Bonus buck: Give customers a $1 coupon for every $10 they spend in your store in July. The coupon is redeemable in August.

I was out shopping today and came across a sign in the wild promoting Shop Local, a concept near and dear to us and something we have believed in from the inception of the company..helping support local businesses in a way that's beneficial to all. Amazon is bad for taxes. Teachers and hospitals rely on taxes. Why would they endorse Amazon? I believe they’re cutting off their nose to spite the face. I believe that teachers and hospital workers should shop local because local businesses statistically pay more in taxes and thereby help support local schools and hospitals. View Post
