Allison Zisko in this month’s HFN shares that The Knot has launched its own direct-to-consumer sales channel—seeking to cut out its long-standing brick-and-mortar partners like Macy’s, Target, and indie stores.

If we want our communities to re-open after Covid, we'll need to do more than just beat Covid. We have to shop at local places online in order to ensure they are there when our communities re-open. Need shoes, a TV, or a book? Your local store can help you. And, money you spend there stays in your community.
As you may recall, Amazon’s growth was partially due to it encouraging shoppers to use local stores as ‘showrooms’ and then complete the purchase on Amazon. Let&...

Our hearts were warmed after spotting the street art of Mr. Rodgers waving at us under an overpass on the way to work on day. We were fans of Dellarious before we even really knew what it was. His pictures of iconic Rochester places, his portraits of musical legends, and social justice heroes both local and global have found a perfect home at Parkleigh. We wanted to know more about the creative and activist spirit of Mike Dellaria and how he generates these incredible images that not only touch ...

We try to keep our country honest by requiring transparency on some things. For example, you can not annonymously buy political ads and run them on TV. Which raises the question: Why did Facebook allow this to occur on its network of millions of users?
Bridge has always required users to verify their identity and name—and even require a business email (instead of gmail or hotmail) email. Does this reduce our membership numbers? Sure. But it also increases the percentage of users that are real. ...

TV ads are not for the rich, reports today's Times. Emily Steel says TV is watched by the aspirational while the truly wealthy use services like Netflix or HBO on demand. This article may speak to how retailers try to sell luxury items across other channels. Lexus reaches the rich not on TV but rather at events like the US Open and at art museums. The article also observes that most people envision themselves 10 years younger than they are and earning 2x as much as they truly do.
