I visited the New York’s Post website--to get my fill of New York gossip--and I was shown a massive advertisement from a leading tabletop brand. (I have covered the brand's logo with yellow rectangles for the privacy of the brand.) Before visiting the Post's site, I had visited this brand's website. The ads appear because the brand has hired some advertising platform to track me around the web, show me ads, and direct me back to its DTC (direct to consumer) site.

From Sunday's NY Times, this article highlights how retail is at a tipping point with the shift from brick & mortar to e-commerce. While it is a big concern to all, we have you covered: Bridge has helped its retailers process 32% more in sales over the last year vs the year before. Bridge's mobile retail software has seen an increase of 55% year over year. As the retail landscape continues to shift, we are moving right along with it.
Ever wish your independent store had lots of locations? It's normal to want to grow. Well, today's WSJ shares that some department stores may have bitten off more than they can chew. The article compares sales per square foot to 2006's. One issue with this article is that 2006 wasn't just any year: it was a wonderful year for retail sales - right before the economic bubble burst. Comparing anything to a high can be misleading.
