Babele is the symbol that embodies all the characteristics that made Richard Ginori an institution in the field of porcelain, to sum up in a single collection perfection and know-how of Florentine manufacture. The design using different shades combined with contrast is the strong point of the Babele collection; contemporary joins tradition, without betraying the classical impression typical of the brand.

A word of advice to retailers that lament losing $3 on shipping charges: let's instead celebrate getting the order. :) Most stores offer free shipping on all items (per my article here ) The goal is to get the sale and eat the shipping cost. If you can charge anything for shipping, consider yourself lucky. Let's consider this example: For a $100 item, a customer pays the retailer $10 to ship the item and it's costing the retailer $13 to ship it. The retailer may think it lost $3, but in ...

Indy retailers are losing the battle to get their part of the online market, according to today's WSJ. Indy retailers online sales year over year didn't grow nearly as much as big box stores' sales. Specialty shops' sales grew 7% while the big box stores grew by 4x that (30%).
How can we help indy stores get their share? We need to give them better websites that are filled with more products. We need to give them tools that help them better share news and sales, and connect with their customers ...

Do big box stores demand better terms than indy stores from indy manufacturers? Yes, and that is why we salute Etsy for asking big box stores to sign a pledge to be less demanding and help indy manufacturers. Please find the article from HFN here:
Via this agreement, Etsy is acting as an proponent for indy creators.
Note: this is one part of the equation. Next up: getting indy manufacturers to agree vice versa to...

Retailers are having trouble balancing their physical store and their online stores, according to a survey summed up by HFN's Allison Zisko.
One sore spot is returns. Excerpt:
Eighty five percent of retailers noted the high cost of online returns to a store, particularly when the item is not carried in that store. And when returning to a fulfillment center or supplier, retailers incur incremental freight costs, the possibility of shipping-related product damage, as well as a lost opportunity for a...

Brochure websites vs. E-commerce websites Squarespace & Wordpress vs. Bridge & Shopify
Carol Schroeder, a store owner who pens a nice blog about retail, reviews website design services in her post this week. Carol mostly covers 'brochure style' website design tools. Brochure sites are characterized by attractive pictures and often a lack of functionality. My hope here is to stress how different brochure websites are from online stores. It's also to share my view that brochure sites are good for ...

He's tasted more great Champagne thoughtfully than almost anyone in the world, and partnered with Reims glassware manufacturer Gerhard Lehmann to produce one of the greatest glasses ever made for Champagne. The tulip shape of this glass allows for a ...
