How to view all of a registry's gift givers on one page.
March 29, 2023
Your Online Store has a new feature: We've made it easier for you and your registrants to view information about a registry's gift givers. There is now a dedicated Gift Givers page that displays purchases grouped by the gift giver.
Traditionally, orders are organized by date. This page groups orders by the gift giver. The page outputs a registry’s gift givers’ emails and addresses on one page making it handy to manage thank you notes.
I was happy to see Tableware Today magazine share our experiences and lessons regarding the power of free shipping.

How setting goals for our new members can help them be more successful.
January 31, 2023
When growing our network, we consider what it takes to keep existing members and grow into other industries. Andrew Chen in The Cold Start Problem reports that Facebook famously wanted a user to get 10 friends in a week because then the person would likely use the service. Similarly, Slack said users with about 10 connections tend to become active users. My company currently doesn’t have such new user benchmarks and we need to develop them.

How having the right defaults makes decisions easier for clients and helps them be more successful.
January 27, 2023
When you look at your driver’s license, it lists if you’re an organ donor. Twenty years ago, only 20% of people were donors, but today 80% are—thereby saving millions of lives. Did people become more kind? No, the question on the application was changed from opt-in to opt-out. People signing up for or renewing a license are now by default enlisted in organ donation. Lesson: the right default answer in medical care can save millions of lives. Similarly, the right defaults ...

Our retailers recently told us that customers are calling and asking about non-existent brides, and brides are asking about non-existent registry gift lists (e.g. wedding registry lists, baby lists).
We investigated the issues and below is what we found.
What is Happening:
We found that many of these purchases are coming from registrants that open a ‘universal registry’ on websites such as Zola or MyRegistry. These universal registry services allow the registrant to add ...

In the book The Cold Start Problem, Andrew Chen says that the 'network effect’ is really three effects:
The acquisition effect
The engagement effect
The monetization effect
In the beginning, a business seeking to build a network has to concentrate on acquiring users, even if they are non-paying. Companies often give away the service, especially software companies, and we can see that with Facebook, Slack, TikTok, and many others. Bridge didn’t do ...

Your Bridge has a new feature: We've made it easier to navigate between registry lists. A Registry list now has forward and backward arrows so you can navigate to nearby registries with one click.
Previously, to see another registry list a merchant had to click on the back arrow in the browser, find the registry it wished to view, and then click it. The merchant would repeat these steps every time it wished to view a different registry list.
Your Bridge has a new Events page that makes it easier to view your store's recent sign ups and anniversaries.
In the example shown, we see the Registry Events page for a store.
The page shows:
Recent Weddings.
Recent Wedding Anniversaries.
The new page also has a "View email template" link under the registrants' names. This link opens a new email in your computer's native email program. The email is pre-populated with the registrant's names, email address, a link to ...

This can include their dishes, silverware, glasses and even items from their favorite collections.

In her new book ‘Quit,' Annie Duke shares that the best poker players only play 25% of the hands they are dealt, whereas others play 50%. Ms. Duke talks with Stewart Butterfield, the founder of a few startups, most recently Slack (which is an acronym, which I didn’t know). Slack wouldn’t have been born if Mr. Butterfield didn’t drop a video game company to start Slack. Likewise for Twitter which was born out of the failed blogging company Odeo. Ms. Duke's lesson: winners ...
