An octopus spends most of its solitary life living in a den only emerging at night to hunt for food. While a rock or random crevice is a common choice for a den, this octopus has clearly picked the equivalent of a luxury condo. A conch shell painted in fishnet colors reflective of the aquatic realm as well as pearlized paint and 24k gold accents make for a grand sanctuary.

Only the artistry of Herend could create such fluidity and motion out of a porcelain figurine. With a striking swirling pattern combined with arching legs that were seemingly caught in mid-movement, a complex, active scene arises creating the illusion of an octopus stirring before our eyes as he slithers across the ocean floor. With the addition of beautiful colors pulled directly from the aquatic realm, the mise en scène is complete. 12.25"L X 4"H Limited Edition Size = 150

This punch bowl octopus at the Vagabond House showroom almost ate our table tent :)

Nice to see Caskata's octopus plates at The Ship bar last night in Soho. They added to the underground speakeasy's nautical decor. The octopus also stole my rum cooler!
