What Threads can teach us about leveraging our existing network when launching a new service.
July 22, 2023
Threads, a new Twitter-like service from Meta, the owner of Instagram, launched this month and almost immediately attracted 40m active daily users. The service’s growth has since stalled and now has just over 10m daily users, but that is still commendable. The Wall Street Journal shared that this impressive launch was largely possible because Meta used its built-in network of one billion Instagram users. This user base helped it overcome the “cold start” problem of acquiring ...

Saks Fifth Avenue just launched a new website. An indie store pays pennies compared to Saks' millions, so the Saks site must be a million times better, right?
After a careful review, I'm happy to share that our indie stores have the better website. And, it sort of 'saks' for Saks that it spent millions ...

Rosenthal Launches New Wholesale Site Powered By Bridge
*** PRESS RELEASE ***
Rosenthal USA, a subsidiary of Arcturus Group, launched a new wholesale website for its family of brands Rosenthal, Versace, Raynaud and other premium brands on November 1st, 2018. The company's retailers and sales reps can login to the mobile friendly website and view real-time stock levels, wholesale pricing, and price lists. The website adapts to the user's country and shows US or Canadian prices and documents.

The new Bridge website has a bunch of new features that are helping boost sales. The Newsfeed encourages visitors to browse and explore items that other shoppers like and purchase. The new site includes larger product pictures, review software, and 20,000 products that update themselves--saving The Globe from having to maintain those items.
Mottahedeh recently hired me to redesign its website. Please find a sample design above.
The parent company Mottahedeh, Inc. distributes Mottahedeh, R. Haviland & C. Parlon, and Milestone. I designed the new site to show the three brands with equal footing, and make it easy to navigate to each.
In the attached comparison, I show the enhancements I made over the original.
Currently, the new home page is 'live,' with subsections coming as they are ready...

Teroforma.com
This new home goods website Teroforma means well, but the navigation is horrible. They should've minded everyone's warnings about sites done entirely in Flash.
The article below is what HFN's Allison Zisko had to say about it. If Ms. Zisko or anyone at Teroforma has any thoughts, I'm happy to take posts on this. Thank you.
