Cormac Kinney, founder of a new online jewelry rental service called Flont, made an observation that I liked. He said:
“Look at software. People don’t buy it anymore—they subscribe to it. A lot people don’t buy cars anymore—they use Uber, Zip Car or lease them. No one buys computer servers anymore—they use Amazon, Google or Microsoft. All the things that we used to buy is now a service."
I agree with Cormac. And there is a good reason that 'software as a service' is good for retailers. Any store that maintains its own website is gonna become obsolete. There is simply no amount of money one can spend to keep up with technology. You HAVE to have your e-commerce website run on a cloud platform—like Bridge. Otherwise, your website will become outdated, slow, ugly, and/or get hacked. Since the web will become the primary hub of commerce, stores not on cloud platforms will go out of business.
Solution: move your online store to a cloud platform (like Bridge) before it's too late.
