Using the Shopify-API service
Once your Shop Local store is connected with Shopify, you can do the following:
-
Import all your products from Shopify to Shop Local.
-
Check the box of each product you want to import into your Shop Local database or click “Select All” at the top to import all products. When finished selecting, click the blue “Add Selected Products to Shop Local” button at the bottom of the page.
-
If you are a retailer, you will need to assign a brand to each product. Select a brand for each product you want to add to Shop Local and make sure the box to the left is checked. To expedite this process, you can add a brand name to the "Vendor" field for each product on Shopify. If the vendor name for the product on Shopify matches any brand names we have in our Shop Local database, the brand will be automatically selected. If you do not assign a brand, the product will not be visible to customers. You can update the brand in the existing products section at the bottom of the page.

-
Update product details on Shopify and have them automatically update on Shop Local.
- To update details of a product you have already imported from Shopify, please scroll all the way down to the "Existing Synced Products" section. Here, you will see an edit pencil icon for each product. Clicking this icon will open an "Edit product" modal which will allow you to update details of that specific product in the Shop Local database. Uncheck the "Sync product details with Shopify" box and update the form fields.
- Note: Checking the box will update product details to what is listed in your Shopify store.

- If a product is listed as "Active" on your Shopify store, a "View" link will be visible in the last column on your Shop Local Synced Products page, which will take you to Shopify's product page for that item.
- On a product's details page via your Shop Local Store, you will see a section identifying the product as "Imported from: Shopify," including the date it was imported.
